21 bank branches vs. 21 architecture students

A really interesting experiment, Armin Blasbichler got 21 of his architecture students at the University of Innsbruck, Austria to pick up a bank in the city, study it, identify its Achilles’ heel and plan a bank robbery.

The Balloon Race is back

Remember the Balloon race across the internet that Poke created in June 2008 and what a great success it was… Well it’s back in the form of play balloonacy, as before you sign up your site and race with some fab prizes from Orange

Interactive Mirror

Picture 7

This Mirror is being marketed as a ‘Mirror reflects our fantasies‘ , it’s a nice bit of kit, but come on…

The mirror acts as a portal so you can check flight status, your mail, the weather etc, all this data can be access via the cloud as well.
The big fail in my view is the lack of touch screen, I can see why you wouldn’t want to smear your lovely mirror, but surely there is anti smear tech out there, using the controller (looks like a TV remote) or your smart phone feels clumsy to me.

Take a look and make your own assumption.

It also checks ‘your health data‘, ermm, I think they mean weight, you know like a normal scales would.

Creating Nature with Sound.

A lovely installation where the user can create nature and animals by blowing / talking into the mic.

MOC by Lab212 explores the relationship between sound and image through simple interactions and fun. Exhibited in the French Institute of Meknes (Moc à Meknès, Maroc, à l’occasion du FICAM10.), MOC is an imaginary landscape that passes in front of the viewer. Whistling into a microphone, a tree grows: its shape will evolve in real time based on the sound produced. At each pause, the tree stops growing. At the sound of the voice, random fantastic animals will emerge in the forest.

Setup:
- microphone on a stand
- 2.30 x 2.30m retroprojected screen
- videoprojector and a mirror
- custom software written in C++/openFrameworks
