Smart Clothes

Reebok, MC10 Collaborating On Electronic Sportswear they are developing clothing that uses embedded electronics to keep track of the health and performance of athletes.
The electronics-equipped apparel already on the market–sports bras that register heart rate using conductive textiles, for example–require removable plastic casings inside the clothing. Apparel that uses the conformable electronics being developed by MC10, however, doesn’t need the casing. That means electronics can be directly placed inside of a pair of pants–or even in decals attached on the skin.
There are a slew of possibilities for the technology, according to Technology Review:
The athletic apparel devices might incorporate sensors and a microprocessor to monitor many indicators of an athlete’s health, such as impacts on the body, electrical information from the heart and nervous system, sweat pH, blood pressure, gait, and strain on joints. Such devices could process the data to generate information about metabolism and athletic performance and broadcast it to another device.

Google Leanback
Leanback is a new way to experience YouTube on a big screen. They named it “Leanback” so the viewer could do just that: kick back and, with as little effort as possible, enjoy hours upon hours of YouTube videos. When you go to www.youtube.com/leanback, you’ll notice that videos start playing immediately, are always presented in full screen and HD (when available), and you can easily browse using just the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Just start typing and a search bar appears, press enter and you have a selection of top rated videos to choose from on a bottom scrolling navigation.

Google TV
World domination is coming … Mhawhahahaha.
Seriously though, this is great news, I have been talking about this for a while, TV viewing with integrated online social behavior.
At home my wife and I both watch TV, but guaranteed she will be on the laptop and I will be on my iPad at the same time, of course there will still be a need for multiple devices because we interact with different content, but its a big move forward.
Move aside traditional TV the future is coming.

Creating Nature with Sound.
A lovely installation where the user can create nature and animals by blowing / talking into the mic.
MOC by Lab212 explores the relationship between sound and image through simple interactions and fun. Exhibited in the French Institute of Meknes (Moc à Meknès, Maroc, à l’occasion du FICAM10.), MOC is an imaginary landscape that passes in front of the viewer. Whistling into a microphone, a tree grows: its shape will evolve in real time based on the sound produced. At each pause, the tree stops growing. At the sound of the voice, random fantastic animals will emerge in the forest.
Setup:
- microphone on a stand
- 2.30 x 2.30m retroprojected screen
- videoprojector and a mirror
- custom software written in C++/openFrameworks

Color Sensitive Interactive Boards
Color Sensitive Interactive Billboard from milton cj on Vimeo.
I really love this way of engaging with the consumer, here you have an interactive billboard that changes every time a person steps forward and triggers the sensors to pick up the new color they are wearing. This of course would fail if the next person to visit the billboard was wearing the exact same color.
This opens up a ton of ways to give a personal shopping assitant to the consumer, for example you could serve clothes based on the color they are wearing at the time.
