The Future of Gaming
Welcome Kijja, online gaming using your iphone as a controller, I have heard on a few blogs that this is the future.

Can this really be the future of gaming, will we start to use our games consoles less? I personally think they are for different audiences, this is neat technology, and yes I would use it if the games where of a high standard, but I will not throw out my Wii which I play with the family or my xBox which is my own toy. they all serve different purposes.
Very cool all the same.

Photocity photo game
PhotoCity is a game played outdoors, with any camera, even a cell-phone camera. By taking photos of buildings around your city or school campus, you can earn points, capture flags, and virtually own your favorite buildings, all while contributing to a large-scale 3D reconstruction!
first-person audio game
You are lost, deep in the darkness of the land of the dead. Your eyes are useless to you here — but your ears are filled with sound. And what is it you can hear … ?
All you know is someone is in grave danger and desperately needs your help. Can you save them and make your escape or will you be trapped in the blackness forever?
You’re in Papa Sangre’s palace. His palace is in an afterlife that takes the form of a malevolent, unpredictable carnival: imagine a Mexican graveyard on the Day of the Dead — with the lights off. You’re the piñata for a host of partying monsters. They probably look a lot worse than they sound. You should count yourself lucky it’s too dark to see them.
Get out. Save the one you love. Do the right thing.
Papa Sangre is a video game with no video. It’s a first-person thriller, done entirely in audio by an award-winning team of game designers, musicians, sound designers and developers. We’ve created an entire world using the first ever real-time 3D audio engine implemented on a handheld device. Which was BLOODY HARD.

Apple’s Game Center for the iPhone/iPad adds a social network for gamers

The big weakness of the iPhone when it comes to gaming has been the lack of a social platform. Facebook games are inherently social and so they spread far faster than iPhone games do, and they consequently make a lot more money for developers.
Apple hopes to catch up on that front with Game Center, a social platform for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The platform, announced today, and due to be released with version 4.0 of the iPhone OS due out this summer
The Real shame here is that Apple are not using existing games on Facebook such as Farmville because of the lack of support with Flash, I am sure Playfish, Zynga etc will create their titles for the iPad / iPhone in the native language, but this still seems a shame that as a game developer you have to start a fresh and also grow your userbase again.
Zynga = 244,783,375 Facebook users.
