SyncFu

Picture 2

SyncFu is a tiny widget for your web shop. It aggregates price concerned visitors in order to achieve mutual volume discounts on your offerings, all according to your own settings. The discount grows with the group size, proportionally to your pricing. It’s an incentive based system, and as everyone gets the last price after the deadline you set, all participants virally share your offers with their friends across social networks.

e-commerce and social media promotion

Disney’s new Facebook application, Tickets Together, represents the company’s latest attempt to bridge e-commerce and social media promotion. The first test of the ticketing app is for the much hyped Toy Story 3. Although the animated film doesn’t open for another two-and-a-half weeks, Facebook members who download the app to buy tickets will also be encouraged to invite friends to make a purchase as well, says the NYT, which noticed that the app first appeared on the social net site on May 26.

GoTryitOn

An interesting insight into social opinions.
This site acts as a hub for people wanting opinions of clothing, for example asking for a vote on a dress to wear to a wedding. The main contributors seem to be women, but I did notice men commenting on one ladies dress.
Make your own assumptions, but the social behavior around wanting complete strangers opinions is very interesting.

TinyPay Me

Buy now at Tinypay.me

A new Quick shop has appeared, with the promise to have you up and ready in 60 seconds, it took me a few minutes, but I was distracted.
This to me is ‘like paypal on speed’ a direct quote from RubbishCorp, who was the distraction.
I have to agree with RC, the idea is good for people can’t make your own paypal button quickly, this does it all for you and you can embed on your own site in seconds.
Their revenue model is to charge you 5% of the sale, which can work out costly if your selling high value items, and I think comparable to ebay.

Color Sensitive Interactive Boards

Color Sensitive Interactive Billboard from milton cj on Vimeo.

I really love this way of engaging with the consumer, here you have an interactive billboard that changes every time a person steps forward and triggers the sensors to pick up the new color they are wearing. This of course would fail if the next person to visit the billboard was wearing the exact same color.

This opens up a ton of ways to give a personal shopping assitant to the consumer, for example you could serve clothes based on the color they are wearing at the time.

Finger pulse vending machine: e-money at your fingertips

Wow, this really is the future, e-money, no cards or cash just your finger.
Shown at RetailTech 2010 this Coca-Cola vending machine that uses Hitachi’s “finger vein authentication” (VeinID) technology when you want to buy a drink.

The biometric system employs finger pulse recognition to see who you are. This might seem a bit sci-fi, but it is apparently safe, convenient and efficient (no need to store lots of data like passwords, log-in numbers, IDs etc).

Are you a Vampire

Excellent stunt using augmented reality on a retail window.
